Prague Population and Public Amenities Prognosis 2024–2050 (POV) is a project developed by IPR Prague based on Resolution No. 757/2022 of the Prague City Council. The aim of the project is to assess the availability of selected types of public amenities within the territory of Prague—both in the current state and in projections up to the year 2050—based on a demographic prognosis and four demographic projection scenarios of possible development. The project consists of two main parts: a study and 16 individual interactive dashboards.
The study consists of 10 chapters that describe the availability of individual categories of public amenities. The first chapter presents the main conclusions of the project. The second chapter focuses on the project’s methodology and the principles of examining the city, followed by an analysis of population trends and a population prognosis for Prague. The remaining chapters address specific groups of public amenities, such as education, healthcare, or, for example, recreation.
This web page is a publicly accessible tool for viewing and analyzing the main results of the project. It includes 16 individual thematic dashboards that allow users to compare the current state of public amenities availability with projections for the years 2030 and 2050. Each dashboard enables independent exploration of the study’s key findings in the context of the entire city as well as specific territorial units.
15-minute Prague is a loose extension of the Prague Population and Public Amenities Prognosis project, based on the same source data. It focuses on the simultaneous assessment of accessibility of basic amenities, population density, and spatial permeability of the city area.
